Subsidence detection
A study of subsidence in Gipuzkoa has been carried out using PSI (Persistent Scatterer Interferometry) techniques using SAR images from ESA's SENTINEL-1 A/B satellites, with a spatial resolution of 30 x 30 m. and temporal resolution of 4.6 years (2016-2020). The study focuses on urban areas and represents approximately 10% of the total area of Gipuzkoa. For more details, read the following document.
The results of this study of surface movements (both vertical and horizontal) can be seen in the viewer (still under construction). In the coming years it is expected to continue updating more data, continuing the time series.
In addition, at European level, the EGMS also offers the possibility of consulting its viewer, with an approximate resolution of 100 x 100 m.
It should be noted that these data must be taken with caution, without making hurried conclusions. These possible surface movements must be confirmed with other movement detection procedures, in the field.
